Is SEO Worth the Expense?

It can be a monumental shift from doing business “the way we always have” to the new, modern, online marketing way.  Online marketing includes search engine optimization (SEO) which helps put your website in front of people who are searching for what you can offer.  These people are using Google, Bing, and other search engines.  As there is only one page 1 in Google search results, the competition for page 1 can be fierce.  The labor-intensive tasks of SEO can get your site there, but it can take a few months to a year, depending on the competition.  And the cost can be more than a business owner is accustomed to paying.

Online marketing in New Jersey (and elsewhere) is very mature and developed which means that many small businesses are already using some form of online marketing strategies, SEO among them.  The reason for this is that many small business owners now realize that it is worth the expense of getting to page 1 in order to be seen by people already searching for their business.  Why spend money on ads and billboards that relate to only a small percentage of those who see them?

Once established, the costs of an SEO campaign are often more than covered by the increased revenue from more visitors to the company website.  And, unlike print ads and email blasts, SEO does not target everyone indiscriminately; SEO matches those who are looking for your business’ goods and services with your business.

SEO skills and techniques are a specialty and are usually not found in small business staff.  Landau Consulting, a New Jersey SEO company can help your small businesses increase its online presence and improve the bottom line even if you are not in New Jersey.

This infographic details the cost versus benefits of SEO.
